Just Sleep on It

The past couple of weeks have really flown by for me, like seriously, when did it become October? I have been so busy ( which is a good thing) but the one thing that I haven’t been able to squeeze in my schedule is a full night’s rest. I really need 8 extra hours added into my day… like for real, could anyone help me with this? I think I would be well on way and those 8 hours would be used efficiently, I would be able to get a blissful nights rest. One can dream, right?  Well since I know there isn’t such thing as the ‘Extra Hours in the Day Gods’, I have to figure something out so that I don’t look and feel as tired as I do ( thank goodness for makeup!) So on my quest to find natural, easy remedies on giving my skin a boost, I have come across some fabulous all natural ways,  that will help puffy eyes, give you brighter skin and fight those wrinkles. Being tired is one thing, but being tired and puffy is another thing that I don't take to lightly!

Potato, Potahto:

Potatoes contain a natural skin-lightening enzyme called catecholase, which can help diminish dark circles and puffiness under your eyes. Apply raw (yes raw) potatoes to your eye area by blending them up to create a paste like substance. Apply for about 30 minutes and then remove, rinsing your eyes with cool water if necessary

Tea Bags:

The caffeine in caffeinated teas , such as green tea can temporarily tighten the skin around your eyes by constricting blood vessels and removing excess water, while herbal teas, like chamomile, will soothe inflammation with their anti-irritants. To apply, steep two tea bags and then allow to cool ( I like to put them on my eyes when they are still warm). Lay one bag over each closed eye for about 15 minutes while you lay down. Green tea is also great for helping diminish those pesky little blemishes. Just rub tea bag directly on area and let dry.

Cucumber:

Applying a cold cucumber slice to each eye may help to instantly calm tired, puffy eyes due to a cooling effect, and it may also help soften the skin around your eyes.

Please keep in mind that while under-eye circles and puffiness can be due to lack of sleep (or a bad hangover), this is not always the case. Allergies, nasal congestion, and stress are common causes, as well as being hungover.  Once you find out what the cause of the circles or puffiness might be, you will be well on your way to getting an action plan in place.

Lemon’s:

I know, I know I talk about lemon’s a lot ( almost obnoxious, right?) but it’s just because I am obsessed with these gems. They can do so much for you from the inside out. So if you want a quick way to brighten up your skin, then rub a fresh lemon all over it. Leave on for 5-10 minutes then rinse off with warm water. Like I said it helps brighten your skin and at the same time it will help fade those sun spots and help those blemishes go good-bye too!
