Green Smoothie Breakfast Bowl

October 12, 2015

Happy Monday Morning!

We have all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, right? I totally agree with this but I will admit, I think all meals are equally as important. What can I say, I love to eat...  but if I don’t start my day off with something nutritious, all bets are off for the rest of the day. If I just flat out skip breakfast or start my day off with a sugar party (or a bag of  salt and vinegar chips- don't judge), my day usually doesn’t end up the way I want it to. I am unproductive, I tend to make other bad food choices, my workouts are non-existent... so overall, I am a hot mess!  Please tell me I’m not alone here?!

So that is why I hardly ever skip breakfast, even if majority of the time it consists of a green smoothie or juice. But sometimes a girl does get tired of drinking her greens, so if you need to mix things up in the breakfast department but still want all the nutritious goodness that a green smoothie/juice provides, then you need to try this Green Smoothie Bowl. The best thing about this bowl, there is really no wrong way to make it. You can play around with the green smoothie ingredients and the toppings, the concoctions are endless.

Green Smoothie:

Handful of kale (organic is best)

1 jumbo romaine heart

1/2 avocado

1/2 banana

Optional- 1/2 of a cucumber

Blend all ingredients together. Pour into a medium size bowl. Now for the fun part, all the yummy toppings! As shown- banana slices, blackberries and raw granola. After I took the picture, I added chia seeds.

I think I devoured this in 5 minutes tops. It was a refreshing change and I typically make some kind of green smoothie bowl a few times a week- sometimes even for dinner!

What is your favorite go-to healthy breakfast?

Sun, Love & Cheers,

Stacie
