Let's Think On It

Our thoughts are powerful beauty. What we think... well, we eventually become. So today's inspo is all about turning our vibrations around so that we are pouring out tons of positive energy.

Ok, let's be real. We all know someone in our lives that is full of negative and toxic energy. No matter what happens to them, they find the worst in every situation and it's a total energy drain for those of us that have to listen to it. Right? When we give in to the negative, we are creating that energy, that space in the universe and what we get back is well, you guessed it.. NEGATIVE!   

And yes, crappy things are going to happen to every single one of us, it's part of life, but it's how we deal with these moments, the way we think and approach these types of situations is what matters. And training your mind to look on the brighter side of things is where it's all at beauty! 

So here are a few of my personal tips that can help you re-align your thinking:

1. Meditate: Meditating is an awesome habit to create for yourself. You don't have to be a yogi to do this either. All you need is 5- 10 minutes a day, find a nice relaxing (quite) place in your home and just sit there (crossed legged) and let your mind empty out. Shut your eyes and focus on your breathe. Breathe in and out. I personally like to breathe something in and out that is bothering me or even something positive. For example: While breathing in, think the words "I am enough" then while breathing out repeat them 'I am enough'. Do this 10 times and it will help relax you and get your head in a calm resting space. Change the words up too. If you are angry at a situation in your life or a person, breathe it in and breathe it out...the point is to LET IT GO. Don't think about all the things you have to do today, or about the guy that hasn't texted you back - just let your mind go.

2. Journal: Write it down, get it out of your head. For those that were with me over at hmmWellness, you know how much I love my morning pages. Morning pages are what I call journaling. You can do them in the morning, right when you get up, or you can do them at night right before you go to bed. The only rule is to fill up 3 pages- nothing more, nothing less. Write about whatever is in that pretty little head of yours. And if you get stuck and have nothing, simply write  "I am stuck I have nothing" over and over and over again, until you start to write about what is in your head. It works. This is so therapeutic and you can really uncover things that you have been keeping under a locked key.

3. Eat Something Green: Yes, I will never stray away from telling you to eat or drink your greens. Fueling your body with good food that is simple and nutritious vs. over processed junk will do wonders for you from the inside out. Drinking a green smoothie vs eating that donut, you will notice a difference. You will feel more alert, have tons of energy and your mind will feel like it's being de-cluttered.  Plus, once you start fueling your body with healthier food, you will want less and less of that junk food.

4. Declutter your life: This is a big one. Get yourself organized. When things are clean and clear in your life, your mind will thank you for it. Living in chaos ( things all over the floor, dirty dishes in the sink, junk drawers all over the place) your body feels this. Clean things up. Purge Purge, Purge. It's the best feeling in the world. I just did this myself. Took me 2 weeks but I went through everything - closets, drawers and got rid of a lot of stuff. It's an amazing feeling to not have the weight of clutter on your back. I typically do this 3 times a year- right before spring, fall and then around the holidays. Donate your items to a shelter or have a yard sale, make some extra cash and then donate. 

5. Move Your Body: a happy mind, body and soul is one that MOVES. Go and get your sweat on. Whether it's a walk around your neighborhood or a bootcamp class, I just want you moving. After a few days of continuous exercise, you will see a difference in the way you feel - and it will be all positive I promise... even if you can't really move after- you will feel great!

6. Love Yourself Unconditionally: Regardless where you are at in life, love yourself wholeheartedly beauty. There is nothing like having negative head chatter to put you in a negative mood. Embrace where you are at right now in this very moment. Don't think about the past ( you can't change it- so stop dwelling on it) don't stress over the future cause we have no idea what is going to happen tomorrow. All we have is this very moment. Live in it. Love yourself for everything that you are right now.
